Corporate Maintenance is a core component used to define your company and/or companies.
If you use its' multi-company capability, the companies are defined as parent and child
companies.
Companies are defined by -
- their fiscal end month, the data repository to be used - either MS Access or
MS Sql Server, and the data path for where common files are stored(network path).
- which components are to be used by the company, and the path to the component
data files. The software defaults to a sub-directory of the data path defined in
the preceding step.
To split journal entry amounts from the parent to child companies you would -
- indicate the Investment Account - the account that the split code amount is offset
to in the parent companys books
- indicate the child companys' eligible for splitting
- indicate the Offset Account - the account that the to companys' percent of split
code amount is offset to in the child companys' books.
- set-up up to 99 split codes. Each split code can split to any eligible child company,
and to the parent company. If splitting to the parent company, the account split to is
indicated. Each split can have any percentage less than 100%, cumulative splits have to
equal 100%.
Other functionality in the Corporate Maintenance package -
- clone a company to create a new company without having to create accounts
- set-up departments for use by the Oil and Gas component. These are not the same as
the department refered to in the general ledger, but can be used as a reference to see
which department numbers have been assigned and which are available.
